The Columbian newspaper, in both an article and editorial, points out the risk that the Interstate Bridge Replacement Project is taking by not resolving the bridge clearance issue. Despite a new agreement in 2014 (after the CRC debacle) between the Coast Guard and Federal Highway Administrative to resolve clearance issues BEFORE starting an Environmental Impact Statement, IBR seems intent on leaving the issue unresolved while they spends 10s of millions of dollars analyzing a design that the Coast Guard might well not approve.
